Leaves / Time Off from Work

Unemployment Insurance provides partial wage replacement to unemployed workers while they look for new work. Those unemployment insurance benefits may apply whether the worker is laid-off, fired, or even if the worker voluntarily quit a job for a good reason. Even if a worker initially has been denied unemployment insurance benefits, the worker has the right to appeal that decision.
